Before the Tiny Forest, before the Starry Night Skoolie... there was just desert.
In 2021, we planted our first tree on 10 acres of cracked, sun-baked earth in the Mojave Desert. Everyone said it was impossible. The soil was dead. The heat was unbearable. Water was scarce.
But something shifted when that first sapling took root. Volunteers came. Then more trees. Then a school bus transformed into a community gathering space. Then a full-blown Tiny Forest using the Miyawaki method, growing faster and denser than anyone thought possible.
This book isn't about perfect heroes or easy victories. It's about burnt-out climate activists who decided to try anyway. It's about midnight water breaks, failed plantings, unexpected breakthroughs, and watching the desert come back to life.
